Inspiration: It's Saiyuki!! I LOVE SAIYUKI~!! Really now, need I any more inspiration?xD
...Actually, for such a crazy choice of character, I do.^^;; You see, our Saiyuki-group's Konzen announced she'll be cosplaying Konzen again and I thought of doing Tenpou because of my hair. But I volunteered to do Sanzo instead because that'll increase our chances of being recognized and I've had the robes, gloves and sutra for AGES now, even before our Saiyuki group was formed. The day of the event itself however, I couldn't contact Konzen.=( Since we've compared Tenpou with Dr. Nii one too many times (Tenpou + Sanzo robes = Ukoku Sanzo!!), and I don't like cosplaying solo (I'm with Bunny-chan, yes?), Ukoku Sanzo it was.xD
(Sans the fact that few DID accept my character, with most opting to think I'm Genjyo Sanzo even when I'm holding a stuffed BUNNY and SMILING!!)

Favorite aspect: Bunny-chan, that my black hair looks absolutely great with the robes, that I actually look okay in most pics, the robes and gloves (Ate Ori's!), hanging out with Laguna cosplayers (who were SO much fun), and--hey!! It's SAIYUKI!! <3 <3 <3

Hardest task/aspect: Slipping Bunny-chan out of the house? Trying (to remember) not to loose my sutra? Telling people I'm not Genjyo Sanzo? This is next-to-ghetto cosplay and believe me when I say I had LOTS of fun with VERY little stress.^_^

Other photo information: This (Sanzo robes, sutra and gloves) is a hand-me-down costume from my crossplay idol, Ate Ori. She had then cosplayed Genjo Sanzo though, not Ukoku Sanzo. Bunny-chan is a 14-year-old stuff toy of mine, and does not look exactly like Dr. Nii's Bunny-chan, but is just as cute!
Dr. Nii, one of the main antagonists of the Saiyuki trilogy, appears as 'Ukoku Sanzo' in the anime during the Kami-sama arc, in Genjyo Sanzo's memories as the temple child Koryuu. He wore the traditional Sanzo robes complete with the crown and chest-armor (which I both don't have), but he is without a chakra. In the manga, he has appeared wearing black robes, which fit him and his character very well (and are oh-SO cool!!).
